Trigram Software delivers an affordable and easy to use practice management software that still has leading edge technology and mission critical functionality.
Our mission at Trigram Software is to create an application that combines the art of modern integrative medicine with the logic and organization of the web based world.
The principal powers of nature are all combinations of Yin and Yang. There are eight such powers, so their Yin-Yang balance is expressed in eight three-line combinations called “Trigrams.” Just as a computer needs only the two symbols, 0 and 1, to express any data fed into it, so the ancient Chinese found that they only needed the Yin and the Yang lines to express their eight images. The three solid (yang) lines seen in our logo symbolize creative action and strength. Our goal is to help you Strengthen Your Practice with our software and provide you with creative solutions to being more efficient.
Trigram Software was established in 1994 by a group of newly-minted medical practitioners who were excited to start their practices. After a great amount of research and trial-and-error, they found that they could create their own user-friendly medical practice management system for a fraction of the cost of buying someone else’s pre-packed program. That first program they created was called “AcuBase”, and pretty soon, friends and fellow practitioners wanted to use it, too. AcuBase Standard was the first of these products to be introduced publicly, back in 1996. Now, more than 10 years and 11 versions later, we’re excited to be the medical practice management software of choice for thousands of practitioners of all stripes, from Acupuncturists to MDs; from single-practitioner offices to multi-specialty operations.
With our latest release of AcuBase Pro 11, we are excited to move into the world of being able to deliver software and updates to you automatically via the web. Our system is automatically backed up and hosted in a HIPAA compliant environment. We are also constantly looking for ways to improve the software and add new features, and our customers ideas are the basis for that.
What people are saying about AcuBase
We want our students to graduate ready to practice, and for their practice management software, we train them in AcuBase Pro. We have it running both of our clinics in Racine and Chicago.

Since the release of its first practice management product, Trigram has apparently been taking user suggestions very seriously. In fact, the literature on their website (http://www.trigram.com) states that most of the current features were taken from user suggestions, which I can attest to.

If you checked out MacPractice and were put off by the $1500 purchase price and further repulsed by the mandatory $1200/year updates, $1000/day consulting fee for someone to come set it up for you and other ridiculous charges, one of my clients has discovered a much better alternative in AcuBase Pro, built on FileMaker, that costs MUCH less and is run by people who are more client-friendly than MacPractice. Visit http://www.trigram.com/ for more information. This covers all needed updates, and information the others charge for, like hospital CPT codes, are free. If you’re in the medical business and would like another reason to dump Windows, here it is. Oh, and the product is cross-platform as well. There are multi-user networked versions available as well.
